I would have been

by Everlasting   Jan 4, 2015

And if I had known
that like lighting you would strike my home,
I would have flee into another land
just to secure the lives of those
whom I love

but if I had known
that like rain you would flood my love,
I would have gone to the highest peak
this planet of ours has
just to save my love

yet if I had known
that like a river in a desert
you would evaporate from my life,
I would have been a desert
all along

There is a longing in this write where you want this love to last and in whatever form you show your acceptance for this love. Basically, its not the looks or anything but for the person itself you want to transform yourself. Such is love.

At the same time I get a feeling that you would not want to loose this type of love by saying/doing something so rather sit back and just admire it. At least that is what I get from this write.

As always an enjoyable read...keep penning.

    Should "flee" be "flown"?

Such a beautiful piece... I love your parallelism in "if I had known" and how passionate your voice is here to protect and save your love.

The ending makes me think you wish you never met this person or were impacted by them? Because they would eventually leave and not be sustained in your life?

    Thoughtful piece, thanks for sharing.
