The price of peace is love.

by Everlasting   Feb 10, 2015

Sometimes love,
I feel your shouts like hammers knocking down
the sign of peace in my heart.
I wish to tell you:

Please, love,
reconsider your thoughts
before you strike
stronger words.

But then again,
Peace has been on sale
since a long time ago
yet you don't seem to want it.
I supposed:
knock it down, hammer it down.

Break down,
the only sign of peace
that remains
in my heart.

Perhaps then,
I'll set anger on sale
and you might just
buy it.

I was reading through older stuff.

A very haunting idea of "anger", "peace", and "love" being for sale so to speak. It reminds me how we might trade certain virtues for others, or play them to get what we want. You give love this strong passion here; it seems stubborn and unwilling to reside in your heart alongside peace.

Thought-provoking write! I agree with Nana that your word choice definitely impacted the reader.

Waw...I actually been leaving my reads for the weekend but I do regret, I hope some of these poems Ive read are still on the nominate-able list on Monday, it's just insane how you twisted this poem at the end.

The hammers, breaking that peace and perhaps inflicting worrisome or pain, your request which is more like your simply pleading oneself to reconsider this although peace has already been lost.

is brilliant, the twist had a strong impact and I thought you were very smart with your word choice.
