Horizons Hope

by cassie hughes   May 16, 2015

Looking into the sunset
I watch the shadow of my heart
skim over ice cream waves
and disappear.
Just like the sun, it searches.
Counting minutes in between
dark hours, whilst hungering for
the sweetness of
a morning kiss
to bring it back once more
above the sea
and banish shade.

The first four lines in this piece are beautiful. Lovely flow and imagery throughout as usual, Cassie. Wonderful.

The title definitely caught my eye with this one, great job. I love the imagery you have in this and the way the formatting suits your tone perfectly. I wish I had been able to stay more up to date reading everyone's work, I would have loved to nominate this - it's amazing.

    I especially enjoyed:

This is another great effort from a challenge, you can do these so well and you really do make the most of the prompt and make it seem effortless to create something great from it.

I loved the scenery in this one and how it really creates such vivid imagery for the reader. It has a beautiful tone to it, and the title is very eye catching and fitting to the poem itself.

I especially like the line of the shadow of your heart.
I challenge you to take this prompt alone, and make more about it. Make that a new prompt for a new poem, I think it such a powerful idea to use. Very creative.

    Nice work.
