A Poet's Muse (Triolet)

by Mr. Darcy   Aug 3, 2015

The poet's muse will never die!
His world of tears unfold in gold.
Each raw step makes the blisters cry
The poet's muse will never die!
Shards of ice fuelling fire thereby;
dripped quill will spill of tales untold.
The poet's muse will never die!
His world of tears unfold in gold.

    A beautiful dedication to the muse who inspire poets
    to write! I love the wording and the smoothness of how
    this triolet unfolds. Well done with the form with beautifully worded images.

    The first line is an interesting statement, a poet often needs a muse (a person invoking deep feelings) in his life to inspire him to write poetry. So one could say that as long as there are poets, there will be muses, or should we say: as long as there are muses, there will be poetry dedicated to them? :)

    The second line is true: a gifted poet transforms emotions into beautifully crafted poems.

    The third line is also true: each step we make hurts us deeper, but walk on, we must....

    The poet's muse will never die!
    Shards of ice fuelling fire thereby;
    dripped quill will spill of tales untold.

    Shards of ice fuelling fire...
    to me that means that receiving a cold treatment, makes the pain (fire) burn even brighter

    The dripping quill spills of tales untold, meaning that the poet can vent his feelings safely on paper, right? We are blessed that way!!!

    The poet's muse will never die!
    His world of tears unfolds in gold.

    Beautifully crafted piece of poetry, dear friend.

    Take care,

    Oh it's been a while since I read your work! and since we last spoke and your latest poems are rocking out really loud. Loved this poem, from pace to rhythm to word choice and theme.

    The form is one that I haven't tried before, but you have added something special to it actually with all this harmonious texture within your lines. That, despite the message :)

    you did very well on this one! well done. Nominated

    The Triolet is a very interesting form to do, one of my favorites. Sometimes it's so easy and the words just pour out, and then some days it truly is difficult to pull off.

    Something that I absolutely love about your specific Triolet is the internal rhyme you have placed within this poem. Internal rhyme is one of my favorite things to add in poetry, as it is very subtle but adds to the cadence. :D
