Bygones be gone

by Dancing Rivers   Aug 3, 2015

Let us let bygones be gone.
Forgive me- for not caring enough to say goodbye-
however you never cared enough to say hello.

I'm leaving all I've ever known,
going somewhere all alone.

By Jove! I'll bid farewell to all that was,
for there are greater things to come,
sorry if I don't feel like they involve you.

Remember, I lived for you,
but the same for me you'd never do.

Goodbye mother, father, sister, brother.

Thanks for making me feel like invisible woman, till it suited you- like when you needed a live in maid or punching bag.

I'm done now, God have mercy on your holy souls, for the devil certainly won't.

Powerfully emotive this is another exceptional poem from you Hazel. I hope that soon there is light at the end of your tunnel.

This really is an extremely powerful and sad poem, Hazel - if it's personal, I genuinely hope it works out for you. The last line is immensely moving. Nominated
