Refrigerator magnet poetry 1

If my heart never loves again
will it remember what it's for?
will it whisper to me
in the dead of night
or will it
burst to pieces?

    Hello Brenda,

I was scrolling through your recent works and came across this poem. It states it's a 'fridge magnetic poem '. I had not heard of this form until the one you posted recently. I guess you have a set selection of words to choose from and from these you arrange a poem. Cool!

The poem speaks of a heart and it's delicate connection with love. Heartbreak is linked to loosing the 'love ' of a person. I like how you phrase the positive vs negative options.
    1. 'Being whispered to' really paints a picture of intimacy .
    2. 'Burst into pieces ' again graphic imagery that portray a broken heart.

Brenda, I know the form is restrictive and so the words available were limited, but I would have been tempted to rhyme 'night ' with the last few lines 'into shards of light '

    Just an idea.

    Well done and take care,

    Michael

Michael, thank you so much for reading this and your comments. Yes, with refrigerator magnets it only gives you so many options of words you can use, it's fun because it keeps it lean and you have to get creative in how you word stuff. I definitely like the ending you chose, flows nicely. All the best-Brenda
