Road work

by Brenda   May 11, 2016

Spring has sprung
and the attack
of the orange barrels
has begun-
a lane closure here,
a lane closure there,
entire freeways closed everywhere!
Traffic grinds to a halt
as lanes are lost
to torn up road-
brakes slamming,
tempers flaring
as the last minute Louie's
jockeying for a positon
in a already crowded lane-
c'mon, you know who you are!
Those blasted orange barrels-
marched out like soldiers
all spring and summer
to line the roadways
until winter comes
unmercifully directing a
travelers destiny...

Brenda, as Ben already said an original topic from you but one many of us can relate to. I was actually hit with some of these orange barrels yesterday going to my meeting lol to say I wasn't happy when I arrived late is an understatement.

Em, on no! I don't know about your barrels, but these ones can do some damage if you accidentally hit one. I'm with you, definitely ruin your day-I'm not sure what is worse, hitting one of those or dropping into a hole and destroying your suspension. I hope you are having a better day today! :)

    Hello Brenda

An original topic from you here and one that I was nodding along to as I read.
'i love the spring has sprung line - a clever play on words.

Thanks Ben, the roads around here are awful! In between dodging the potholes you suddenly have thousands of drivers diverted onto a roadway that you use everyday Adding to the fun, it's good times...take care and happy driving:) Brenda
