Little one.

by Linda   May 25, 2016

I've never done this,
and I don't know if I'll be alone for it,
little one.

But I know you won't be.
I won't hurt you.
I won't fail you.
I will try to make sure your family is together
before you get here.

I will do everything I can for you.
You will not hurt.

I will not fail you.

The selfless love in this poem stirs my heart! I read this as a kind of whispered tone, very soft and nurturing. You are choosing life and promising that you will try your best, that you will give all of yourself, that you will never hurt this child the way you may have been. Even though you haven't done this before, there is such a strong assurance and hope for this child. Such a touching poem.
