The old sea dog lectures, Pt I (Shakespearean sonnet)

The old sea dog lectures
(Shakespearean sonnet)

Part I

_/~~~

Upon the seven seas I sense your pulse,

The swaying of hypnotic imagery;

A sweet wild storm like this may well engulf,

Embryonic salivation on the breeze.

To captain such a temperamental storm,

One learns with each and ev'ry salty bite.

Experience like this shreds sails forlorn.

So, how to save a fledgling flying kite?

The salt has to serrate to cause a graze,

So blood can rise and crack a thunder mark.

A voyage of the heart will break the haze,

When sturdy sails join with a weathered mast.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Success is found by those who can survive,

The cuts and scrapes to find sweet Paradise.

~\_(X)_/~~~~~~~~~~. . . . . . .

    Thank you, Gel.

I appreciate the compliment, heck I need them. I want to explain the weird symbols scattered before and after the text:

The associated imagery is supposed to symbolise a \___/ boat with a heart (X) in it, searching for Paradise. When one (X) finds another (x) they both sail off \_(XX)_/ together on the ~~~ sea.

Notice how the first \___/ slowly travels from right to left, that shows the progress of the journey.

    Thanks again, Gel.

    Take care,
