    I misread this first of all - I thought the title was "internal hope" as in, the hope we hold inside, hoping for change. It could also be "external hope" hoping that an entity out there, perhaps a God will divinely orchestrate a change in circumstances. It must be like buying a scratch card, each day, buying dozens in the hope that a fortune will shine from the reveal of 3 bells in a line. Sadly, if only he saved his scratch card money, he would be rich and wise enough to not need the fortunes he is blindly hoping for!
