We Love You Texas:

They say everything is bigger in Texas
That includes the hurricanes,
So the whole World sends our love
For the whole World feels your pain.

Texas oh Texas the Lone Star State
Your certainly not alone tonight,
Your in our hearts and our prayers
So we're all gonna help you fight your fight.

For your very name stands for friendship
And in your time of need we can't let you down,
So let us all Remember The Alamo
And once again all stand our ground.

Hurricane Harvey should've known better
Because nobody messes with Texas,
For there's no one that's more determined
Than a cowboy hat wearing pissed off Texan.

We might have to get our boots wet
And tighten up our hugh belt buckles,
Bite our lips and grit our teeth
To rid Mighty Texas from her troubles.

To all the great people of Texas
We all tip our ten gallon hats to you,
And if there's anything that you need
All your neighbors will do what we have to.

For God Bless you Mighty Texas
During these hard and trying times,
May you take Hurricane Harvey by the horns
And restore your Glory back to it's Prime.

    "We Love You Texas" By Scott Cole 4 points

    I selected this poem to Scott as one of my three for a couple of reasons.

    Firstly because it incredibly well written. Secondly and more importantly for me is that it is full of hope, solidarity and philanthropy.

    We have all witnessed the devastation in Texas and it would be easy to write of such. Yet Scott sends a different message.

    I am in tears. This is such an amazing and touching piece! These past few days have been overwhelmingly chaotic and heartbreaking. But it has been truly amazing and heartwarming to see everyone coming together to help. We are truly and forever grateful for the kindness, help, and love we have received through all of this, and so grateful for people's willingness to help get us back on our feet. Thank you for such a kind and beautiful dedication.
