Bone

by Alice   Nov 28, 2017

My sister took a goblet dive
in the autumn woods.
Not on her face but on her butt.
Not like a dolphin arches waves
but like helpless prey dragged through mud.
She indigoed her lower spine
left it thwacked with ache
like vinegar clinging to the tongue-
a warning to watch her step
and mind the path she takes.
