Glory Days

by Mark Rawlins   Dec 3, 2017

Through the visions, through the dreams,
Through the crazy-hair brained schemes.
Through the mullets, bib and braces
Cheeky grins across our faces.
Through the things we thought we knew,
The songs we sang, the fire we blew.
Through the critics' sneers and jeers,
To rapturous applause and cheers.
Through the costumes, through the stories,
Through it all we fought the Tories.
Through the storming bright ideas,
Through the laughter, through the tears.
Through the passion, through the cares
Through the awkward love affairs.
Through the ignorance of youth,
We searched for wisdom, searched for truth.
Through the drama, through the plays ......
These were our unsung glory days!

This brilliantly reflects youth in a lovely, nostalgic way. Love it Mark! :-) x
