Please don't

by Victor   Jan 4, 2018

I'm so scared right now
There's somebody in my house
I can hear the footsteps
I can hear his voice
It sounds so slimy
It sounds so greasy
I feel like I'm about to die
And my heart is pounding out of my chest
Oh god
He's right outside my room
He's knocking so hard on the door
How can it even hold?
The truth is, it can't
He's standing at the foot of my bed
I'm looking up at him, bawling my eyes out
"D-Dad?"

The undertone of abuse and the child begging 'please don't' to his father is heartbreaking. Really well written with the suspense and the twist :-) x
