Envious of a Dream

by William Mae   Apr 16, 2018

The desire inside realities eyes,
Staring into peoples dreams,
Is there because it cannot match,
The perception there it seems.

The fragrance of the lover,
And intoxicating scent,
Reality stares in disbelief,
Of the power there that’s spent.

In dreams the gentle caressing touch,
The height of ecstasy,
The pleasing tasting flavors,
Envy for reality.

In dreams the moments always rise,
Above presumptions mark,
And flames burn within the souls,
That at birth was but a spark.

Reality felt it could not match,
The power of a dream,
Until the day reality watched,
True love come on the scene.

True love brewed up emotions,
That it grew within a heart,
Love bonds lovers deeper,
Where dreams never share a part.

Dreams are only wishes,
Just fading passing thoughts,
And can never match true love,
Feelings that reality brought.

So no more envy in realities eye,
Dreams power was diminished,
Now living happy side by side,
Reality wakes when dreams are finished

Dreams and reality at times seems so real and it feels like we are
awake while dreaming, but I guess they call that day dreaming :)
