Flawed

by Catchy   Sep 15, 2018

Square, spotty and full
Simple, scarred and a little rough
Not often a thing to drool
Looking soft and a little tough

Shiny, sticky to filthy
Under the merciless tropical sun
Slim, flawed but still pretty
And I ‘ll only have one

Oily, aged but still young
Love it, hate it, I’ll be fine
Gets criticised by own tongue
But my grit and love still shine

The proof that I have life
I can do things and smile
No thoughts to go under the knife
And lose my own style

I will not aim to be another
I will accept and embrace
And just be myself rather
For I love my blemished face

It is comforting to see that there are still people unswayed by the media's lure to go under the knife and confirm to societies view on beauty. There are far too many plastic clones around. There will come a time (I feel sure) when plasticity will have made the concept of beauty nothing more than bland and wrinkles will become the new vogue. An excellent write. Milly x

It was a nice read. I think you have a strong personality resides within you as you showcase your very true self so well.

Being content with who we are is seldom achieved. Social media seems to mind control most of us to varying degrees.
It's refreshing to read of a person who has escaped that trap.
    An inspiring write.
    Well done.
