My Pick

by Muhammad Amiruddeen   Oct 7, 2018

If wishes have wings,
Mine would fly to you,
To roll and glide,
To wheel and spin,

To feel the joy that swells within,
To leave the world of fright and dismay,
And feel the warmth of a clear sky in the spring,

Sitting here right next to you is a forecast long overdue,
There's nothing I want to do than to see the day,

I whisk you away on a holiday,
A chance for us to get away,
From all the stuffy, set routine,
Of work and chores at home,

I wish I had a magic stick,
That would make me have all I pick,
My heart beats only when you blink,
I'm sick waiting to be all you seek.

Welcome to the site Muhammad. I love the start of this piece "If wishes had wings I would fly to you" what a heart warming loving start. The idea of whisking your love away on holiday will resound with most people. A chance to get away with a loved one to spend prime time together away from the chores and routine. Oh to have a magic stick that would make all that possible would be wonderful indeed. A lovely upbeat poem. Milly x
