Butterfly (Part Two)

by Lilychu   Oct 20, 2018

I find a pretty butterfly
One I had never seen
But as I start running for it
It doesn't look so keen

I managed to catch up
With my net is what I used
To capture the beauty in front of me
Despite my change of moods

I keep it in my net
Until I got inside
Of my house where I live
Right next to the sea tide

I head inside the house
And lock the door behind me
And go into the kitchen
Instead of setting her free

I place the sad looking insect
Into a glass jar
So I can treasure her forever
And travel with her afar

Despite her look of sadness
I decide to go find dad
And show him what bug I had caught
I hope he won't be mad

I come back with him
But she had disappeared
I forgot to close the lid God damn
This is exactly what I feared

Sometimes need to fly free little one xxx

And you know I would have carried it outside and let it go. I did such to a ladybird only recently x

Superb rhyming with a humerous tale. Perfect for me in every way. So glad the butterfly escaped (nice little end twist as I expected the poor thing to have suffocated) Milly x
