Flaxen Wings

by Maple Tree   Oct 1, 2018

She lived within a cave dwelling
past few years or so;

beyond the bushes, brush and fields
down yonder a path- ago

and so she trotted, bare feet and cape
saving the lives of others
she forgot to rest her soul at night
fell victim to fellow brothers.

a tarnished soul dies ever so lonely
when the last bell rings
please dont' cry for the lost child
for she has earned her flaxen wings.
