Seasonal Sneezer

by Milly Hayward   Dec 21, 2018

My uncle is a 'Sneezer'
he sneezes all the time
he does it oh so often
it really is a crime

Sometimes in a hankie
sometimes in his hand
sometimes just into the air
where ever he may stand

It seems he's on a mission
to spread his cold around
nasty germs loose in the air
will catch me once I'm found

If only he would stop and think
and stay at home instead
tucked up warm inside his bed
those germs would soon be dead

Oh, I just hate 'those' people who sneeze into the air. It's just rude, unecessary and inconsiderate. Greater
You have made light of this sensitive topic, which is probably best. XX

It is not often that you find a poem nominated from the fun and humour section of the site. The reason is probably because we all avoid that part like the plague. Comedy is a difficult skill to master, what you may find funny may fall flat elsewhere. Milly has taken a simple subject and written a very funny piece. In fact, I would consider it a classic, I can easily see this being read out at elementary schools. worthy of an HM at least 4 points

This was a funny write and I can totally relate! Trying to stop a sneeze though makes me only sneeze harder. Oh I know how many of us during this holiday season are wary of any chance of germs and getting a cold.
