Lifelong

by Tanya Southey   May 7, 2019

I’ve been addicted
to words since
I formed my first one,
the shape of them,
the way they roll
around our mouths,
connect us and
create meaning

The magic
they can create,
an image of red
umbrellas against
a grey sky
and in the flick
of the pen
the sun can shine
again

Words like
discombobulated,
hullabaloo,
serendipity
and synchronicity

But mostly I love
the simple ones
the ones that say
I loved you
before
I met you

You have this talent of keeping a poem at a level and then suddenly hitting level 10.

That ending had so much power and the whole thought behind this poem is very unique to me.

    Another wonderful piece.

This is soft and elegant, ended with a beautiful flick of your pen at the end :)

Words are so deliciously addictive and you have put them together well especially with the very sweet and romantic last stanza. Milly x
