Tempest

by CJ Maleney   Jun 17, 2019

Winds will howl!
As the pain of rain damages.
The river bursting,
The land saturated.

The flood catastrophic.
Possessions float away. You do not need them.
All that you accumulate contaminated.
But some things stay pure

When the waters recede,
What is left is you!
Your community your friends and loved ones.

The water washes much away.
Some of it you are better off without.
What is left is nothing less than humanity.

Yes I know what its like. Was in one last year and it
was devastating...it was bad...and in some ways thankful to
God that it wasn't worse then worse!

I was there also on the 5/12/2915.

I had to start again. As did many.

      We did and we endure
