Poltergeist (etheree form)

by Brookie   Sep 15, 2019

Some
days I'm
just a ghost
in my own skin;
trembling at my own
expectations of what
I should or should not deserve.
One day maybe I'll find a way
to halt the hauntings in my own heart,
but till then i guess ill remain alone

    Sometimes when writing these syllable based poems, it's easy to lose sight of the actual content, but you manage to get the syllable count right and stay on-point too. Nominated.

    I think it's so scary when we rely on ourselves to determine what we deserve and what we don't, just like if we rely on others, if we stop ourselves from believing we can and are worthy of all good things.

    This was a chilling etheree, my favorite lines were "one day maybe ill find a way to halt the hauntings in my own heart".
