Paperweight

by Kitty Cat Lady   Sep 19, 2019

Only pretty confetti was allowed to take flight
Dancing in the breeze of my carefree thoughts
Harmlessly they'd float and flutter about
No direction or destination sought

A custodian of my heavy pages
You restrained with weighty compassion and care
You kept the dark ink from seeping out
Not allowing it to spiral into my despair

But now whole tomes crash unbound
Swirling unmitigated, unwilling to abate
No more is your love a port in my storm
No longer are you my mind's paperweight.

An emotional write and the depth of the pain
is felt in your silent writing with imagery
    to accompany it.

Congrats on the win, take care

I sense some sadness in this write but I also see strength. You also will make it through this black tunnel. Add to my favorite. Hugs

There's some lovely but rather sad imagery throughout this, Kitty. I am genuinely sorry you are feeling so low at the moment.

    Take care

Thanks Ben. I'm actually ok but started this a while ago when I was low and wanted to finish it. Thanks so much for your comments :-) x
