It was a secret gaze

Our College phycology class was in a packed room, our Professor was so eloquent that many of the gals did swoon, I needed an A plus for my Bachelor's Degree. Momentarily, I looked around our Class, I caught a pretty Lass quickly removing her gaze of me, being a single guy with no current main squeeze to keep my mind at ease, I coughed out loud, she looked my way, my smile, and, a wink gave her food for thought, I think.

At recess, I strolled to the lovely lake with the Park on it's brink, sat down on the bench, a sweet smell of cherry blossoms filled the air, I jumped when I felt fingers grip my shoulders, I turned to see those beautiful eyes, the envy of the blue skies. She said; I've been watching you, I said, I know, with a wink, and a nod, and, looking at you ain't hard.

I told her that I was pursuing a Bachelor's Degree, she told me that she had a Master's Degree, and looking for extra credits to qualify for a teaching position at an Ivey League University. Love was definitely in the air, even the fragrance of the blossoms could not accede what a young male with more testosterone than he needs.

I blurted out; marry me, she laughed, and said; I wanted to ask you sooner! my brain was drunk with endorphins, I used to mock people who I thought were "Social Climbers" but, look who's one now, go on ego, take your bow. Some issues were inevitable, we would go to the Opera, when maneuvering to our special Balcony seats, the movie Stars, and Politicians would first greet my wife saying; good evening Professor, bye the way, who's your friend. She hated that, told me that they like my position, but if I didn't have that, I would just be another woman to them, nice to have not only a wonderful wife, but a true friend for the rest of my life.
