Calm

by Skyfire   Dec 10, 2019

You came to me
with your arms full of
stuffed animals
and
eyes still full of sleep
I pulled you close
and you tumbled
into my lap, snuggled close,
and we rocked,
listening
to the wind outside,
the toll of the wind chimes
and the roll of the thunder.
Together
we quietly breathed
in a quiet house
and dozed
in the midst of a
summer storm.

Beautiful piece of writing, no doubt one of a child held in your arms, just peacefully together through the stormy night :) Mx

This is soothing, I kind of imagined the entire scene. I love simplicity in writing, very well written :)

Thank you hiraeth! It's definitely been a while and I'm hoping to figure out what kind of a writer I am again.
