I Became the Moon

by Kate   Jan 29, 2020

When I had no tears left to cry
My particles disappeared into the air
And I searched aimlessly for myself
For my purpose, for my being
Until I floated high above the earth
And put my tired eyes to rest

I awoke in a brilliant absence of you
Blanketed in a warmth of dazzling stars
And I became the luminous moon
Smiling down with new found freedom
The only memory left of you
Just a simple reflection

I can't do much more than sigh after reading this piece! In two stanzas, you say so much. There's heartache and loss and a metaphor that holds such sorrow of this lost love.

    Love your writes so much.
