The night we first met I had no idea

We both just said goodbye without further delays

Our conversation continued from the night before

The night was filled with laughter and talking constantly
I truly was amazed by our compatibility

Of course this didn't stop and we planned further nights
The friendship that we formed just made it feel so right
It wasn't long until I was knocking on your door
And suddenly you're someone I no longer can ignore

One night walking home the full moon shining high
As usual to your door before saying goodbye
This time there was a pause and a chance I couldn't miss
We were standing so close and destined for a kiss

But suddenly you stopped and broke all the charm
As if some thought in your mind began to ring alarms
You said that you were sorry but we are only friends
And if you were misled I truly did not intend

Now standing in the cold as you have gone inside
