Change Your Ways

by Milly Hayward   Mar 5, 2020

Phone me up and threaten me
and weave your evil threats
spin your lies and take your prize
but beware of what you get

For evil deeds will bind you
with chains that pull you in
to a contract made in hell
the devil will have your skin

What you give is what you get
in this life and the close
so stop all your corruption
it's inflicting many woes

Give up all your evil deeds
and change your way of life
for goodness begets goodness
and an end with much less strife

    Hello Milly,

Not alone should one give credence to and take heed from your sound advice, but one should give praise to your verve as a poet. The parameters in this genre of poetry are many and you have succeeded most admirably, I must say. Very well done, truly. Excellent!

    Kind regards, Tony.

Really great poem, I find it interesting that even though the person in the poem threatens you and appears to be a destructive or disruptive part of life. You then wonder about their soul, and even hope for their redemption. It’s hard to give up on the people we love/loved even if they do evil things.

Thankyou for your lovely comment glad you liked it. I don't think that there are many people who are completely bad but I think sometimes people forget that there are repercussions for all that you do in life. Milly x
