Moonlight

by Obscure   Apr 14, 2020

The silver of rivers
The smoothness of stone
The calmness of silence
when you are alone

The gloom of a moment
kept safe in a poem
The sound of a windchime
when no-one is home

The sorrow that lingers
In diamonds and jewels
The sad sort of comfort
Found only in fools

Its soft cloudy glow
floods out of the dark
And sweeps me away
without leaving a mark

Very calming, indeed. The rhyme worked well to put me at ease. I especially liked thinking how the things that don't necessarily leave a mark, can influence us more than tangible things. The solitude but also tranquility found in nature.
