Let me go

by Lemon Square Bear23   Apr 19, 2020

I'm not who I'm supposed to be
I know this life is not my destiny
I'm trying to fight my way back to her
but this path is an empty blur.

My broken heart and aching pain
Silently screaming your name
Begging for someone to hear me
Asking for God to set me free

I thought this life would be enough
I finally found happiness and did not bluff
A husband who no longer makes me bleed
my sweet baby who fills my heart’s need

I can not dance with darkness anymore
My heart is so damaged, heavy, and sore
The light at the end is calling my name
As I walk toward it, I don’t feel ashamed.

I can set myself free, make this place my new home
somewhere to belong, I will no longer feel alone
please let me rest in peace, it is my final wish
allow me to greet death with a tender kiss

A very moving piece of writing. The desperation in this seeped through the screen as I read.

    Take care
