Oh Spring Time

by Cohen Robyn   May 7, 2020

Oh summer, you are gone but not forgotten
The bright green leaves that you’ve perfectly nurtured
With the warmth of your love
They are now in the midst of autumn

As they approach their last days
They lose their colour, but for a purpose
It is in the last days they prepare for sacrifice
For winter is on it's way, with no remorse

They are no more, The tree now stands alone
The tree love her leaves so much
For it is willing to suffer alone, through the depth of winter
Like she knows, that soon she'll rejoice
She carries her burden with pride, until the end

But she feels now a sudden change
Oh Spring!
Is it you?
For I awaited on your arrival I now know my purpose
For you make everything so clear
Like the early sunrise in September

Born again,
Like the new earth in the bible
Her children has once again come home She lightens up
As they return, one by one
Oh Spring time, welcome home!

Nature has always been the greatest part of life that gives us hope. nature has manifested a great value of life. throughout all of our sufferings, there is still something to hope for, something to be grateful for. I love the depiction, and images used. your poem has suggested a cycle. our youth, hurt, pain, love, suffering, death and much more that makes us maintain a life. And that, life is revolving around a cycle. whats there to be worried of? when we know hope, pain and suffering are all around us? oh Dear friend, Thank you for such a beautiful piece of art. keep on writing.

A beautiful refreshing poem. The metaphors are very well picked and the expressions were connected from the opening verse to the last. The flow uninterrupted and the whole scene just complete making so much sense.

Used nature to perhaps reflect a personal story and personal affections, it is so easy to relate actually to many of your lines and to read them from a personal point of view.

Your style is very coherent and interesting. Looking forward for more.
