Only Atoms

by Walter   May 11, 2020

Our secret remained hidden for so long
But everything ruined when humans came along
Although this didn't happen straight away
A smart man worked us out and just what we convey

You would think when such an insight is solved
With the potential for having problems resolved
That man would decide to put us to good use
But instead something dire is what he'll produce

We are able to cause an apocalypse
All this power unleashed by human fingertips
With the world at war, man couldn't wait
Now the world worries while a few are tempting fate

Why don't you learn from your mistakes?
How many lives lost exactly does it take?
It's worrying to know that this happened twice
And the whole world will suffer and pay the price

We might be invisible to the naked eye
But split us apart and we will horrify
It's obvious that humans have never cared
The universe created with E=MC²

The sun and the stars all live this way
Producing energy so life will start to play
Be warned don't make us mad or you'll regret
Even though were small we're still your biggest threat
