Today is the day you will become two
Parents restless, in constant motion
Thoughts that dance in your mind, we have no clue
With worry we wait, to see commotion

The thrill it must be to wake every day
The thrill I see with each sight of your face
No time to delay, for you must play
Time, never enough for feel your embrace

All your power, to be independent
Observing your world, ever so curious
We watch and wonder like an attendant
For what you will learn is surly glorious

Although life at times will seem to be odd
My love for you will always be awed
