Unrequited

by Matt Carroll   Jul 29, 2020

I just wish that you saw me the same
That we weren't caught up in this game
That our hearts were tuned in on a frequency that'd bring us together but we aren't and I'm likely to blame
Maybe if I wasn't such a lame
A little bit taller, a little more baller
A nicer smile, more of a shot caller and that my place in your life wasn't smaller
But it is, and that ain't just in my head
No matter how many I'm leaving on unread
I want what I cant have, that's you but I'm just too shook to let it be said
So I'll sit here in silence and drown in the violence of a heart that's been all but bled
