Anxiety

by Matt Carroll   Aug 20, 2021

Gasping, needing air
Grasping, but nothing's there
Restless, with no relief
Just total darkness underneath

Screaming, not a sound
Foothold can't be found
Searching, all is lost
Shivering in the frost

Looking, eyes are hollow
Pain I cannot swallow
Reaching, denied assistance
Losing grip on my existence
