Autumnal blessings

by Michael   Nov 2, 2020

digging deep into
her pockets she pulls out handfuls
of seasonal change

she sweeps along
the arms of huge wooded vats
gathering foliole
shapes which have been maturing
for a year

with a deep breath
she blows them into the wind;
like kisses from
her hands

they playfully swirl and twist
through the air;
like confetti, bringing forth a celebration;
a marriage between
colour and
nostalgia

upon a white stage,
quills dance cheek to cheek with ink,
twisting and gyrating moves of literature;
spelling out the first waltz
of winter

    Lovely imagery! It has the feeling of autumn weaved in the words! Beautiful colours and a really cosy feeling comes with this. Wonderful!

    Wonderful images and feelings here. Like many seasons, they can be symbolic of a human timeline. Sometimes I feel like I have a 'wooden' appendage, swinging in the wind. No, that's not quite right.

    Nice work, Micheal
