11:30 pm

I read pretty words from lovers cross the globe-

pen etchings with ink pen tear stains
heart felt sentiment and lonely, broken
I love you's.

Devoted poets confessing undying love
for the soul that has caught their heart,
poetic beyond poetic; such as Poe's
darkened sentiment for Lenore.

as I rest, curled in the corner
of my husband and I's office,
I reminisce of our ten year, ongoing
love and marriage.

Its not a passionate embrace
under a dark moon lit sky
or verses of oozing passion-

its the curl of his lip and the dimple
in his grin as I sachet crossed hard wood floors
within my pink slippers or our ritualistic
meeting every night at 11:30 pm on the back porch;
to discuss life, the day and other ramblings.

For all the little things we do together
all the big discussions we have and
late night passion in an Elvis T shirt
and star wars pajamas- that is love, our love

Its a poetic day to day love
for two lovers from New York
digging our way out of 3 foot snowbanks
as boots fill with snow- eyes meet and we whisper
"Its F* (ing) cold out here- lets snuggle in the office
my love"

    I love everything about this!!

I feel like we experience love so differently from person to person, not to mention all of the different love languages that we have. Sometimes I read things and think "This is in no way relatable to me and my husband" Then i read things like THIS and I am like... "This.. This is exactly like us"

    Beautiful read and wonderfully written!!
