Within Reach (Short song)

by Maher   Dec 27, 2020

Lady Wind, through rustling leaves,
where she doth blow, they go.
The mountain air she breathes with ease
to deliver cold to snow.

Trace the land and rivers' flow,
Lady Wind where will't thou go?
From sandy shores to chasms deep,
her breath has met them all.

Yet beneath the earth of pounding hearts
her fingers find a wall.
Dear Lady's touch may surely breach
the cracks that lie so small.

To me this song is apt. With this pandemic, we are all acutely conscious of the air we breathe and of the fragility of nature. Only when we fear our mortality, do we fully appreciate life.

Any chance of a link to a recording?

Thank you my friend, glad you like it. Only just wrote it today, so no recording yet. Maybe when I'm home alone or in the car one day :)
