Adagio

by Jane Do-Re-Mi   Jan 19, 2021

Wistful symphony echoes
o'er silver tears and,
as hush prevails
lake of sorrow shimmers
its appeal
as lovers bid adieu,

parting in life yet,
entwined forever.

In the still of night
an owl hoots.

I've meant to comment on this for a while!
This is stunning. There's such beautiful imagery and language in this - it's actually soothing! I think adagio means slowly and gracefully in Italian , both words that describe your poem perfectly. My family and I love listening to adagios. I'm glad to see this nominated!

unlike Ben, who is a lush, I like to listen to slow music whilst sipping my coco. This is a lovely piece of writing that puts me right in the mood to put my feet up, close my eyes and listen to the owl gently hooting in the still night. Glad to see this nominated.

I listen to adagios every single night with a glass of wine or two. Barber's adagio for strings is my favorite.
Anyway, I couldn't help but be drawn to this. Nominated.

    All the very best.
