Uncle Ray

Uncle Ray

I had an Uncle,
His name was Ray.
But just a couple days ago,
He passed away.

I hate you cancer
What an awful disease.
I will make people
Go away like in a breeze.

I wish he was here
But now he is not.
And I wish I could tell him
What thanks he has brought.

I wish I could hug him
One last time.
You don't know how
Far up a mountain I'd climb.

I wish I could see him,
But he is now gone.
And now it is time,
To move on.

I love you Uncle Ray,
Thanks for being there for me.

    I'm really sorry for your loss. I had a great grandmother who passed from the same disease a few years ago. Cancer is a truly terrible thing.
    Losing a loved one hurts so much and - at the time - you only wish to escape. You'll always miss them, but it gets better, and they never really leave you as long as you remember them. Once you've moved on from the sadness, you're left with lovely memories of them and the legacy they've left.
