Chambered Petal

by Baby Rainbow   Dec 22, 2021

A once cheerful petal was found
shrivelled up and dead,
beneath a Winter's midnight sky.
They were not shocked by the smoking gun
they found at the scene,
but instead they were shocked
at what they didn't find in her life.

It created a brand new search
to seek for some answers,
of how a once so cheerful petal,
could have become so shut down.
It appeared like the petal was eaten by lions,
then spat out without revenge.

Maybe we are all victims of the past,
extreme hoarders of the secrets behind our eyes
that we hide in our darkest chambers.

No one will ever see the pain
if I learn to get good
at hiding it away.
