Between Us

by Walter   Apr 9, 2022

Tomorrow will be, our first day
That we'll no longer share
And it makes my heart, fill with pain
When I won't find you there

I know that we, will both cry
When we find ourselves alone
And all the time, that we shared
No longer will be known

Although you'll say, that you love me
As much as I love you
But why am I, filled with doubt
If this is even true?

And I think that, we both know
To try and understand
That maybe we, were never close
Although you hold my hand

Loneliness, that we both felt
While sharing the same room
But why I'm feeling, when you are gone
That this will just resume?

We mutually, both agreed to leave
Because we thought it's best
Why then are we feeling pain
So deep within our chest?

Silently, we're sitting here
No wanting this to start
Maybe that, we were both wrong
And should never be apart

Neither of us dare to speak
And take back what we said
Nor do we look, forward to
What lies now ahead

I want to yell, I want to scream
And tell you this is wrong
That we should try, one more time
Because we do belong

But words cannot, be taken back
When we both said so much
Your warmth I feel, within my hand
Is the last thing that I'll touch

Now pretending that we sleep
When I can barely blink
And how much you're a part of me
Is all that I can think

Tell me why there's such a love
That takes more than it gives
And why whatever choice we make
Is the one we won't forgive?
