Starlight

by Synful   May 22, 2023

Silence overwhelms a tired soul
As they wander into the night
Asking the moon and stars to console
Their battered being's plight.

Strength laces itself throughout the days
But, as the sky grows dark and the world slumbers,
Tears and fears replace headstrong displays
And a heavy heart's pleas thunder.

Celestial guidance pools within a heaving chest,
Allowing for the gift of serenity to nestle gently in a mind
So eager for unadulterated rest;
The wind swirls around the being as if Nyx's contented sigh.

Beauty is nourished through pain,
Devastation kisses destiny with a passion,
Fire burns the path for rebirth amongst the arcane
While starlight houses a yearning one can only begin to imagine.
