We own the night

by CJ Maleney   Oct 30, 2025

When srorms will rage and rain will pour
When the wind batters at your door
When you hide behind your luminescent liight

Know i am one who owns the night

Wrap your blankets tight and close
Or snuggle in to the one thats near
Hope and and pray for heat and light

But beware of those that hold the night

For while you snooze or slumber
We are the ones that hide down below
We are the ones that can't be just right

You are safe we own the night

Solitude is our price and curse
Yet we not do this for a heavy purse
Our work is heavy and is not slight
and things get completed out of sight

But remember when you wake
That some of are still awake
And the end is far from sight

But

I own tonight
