My Pulsating Star

by The Fallen Angel   Sep 28, 2026

I was a shadow before you came,
a nameless soul with a fading flame;
a forsaken sky, a dying night,
a soul that had forgotten light.
Then you arrived - my pulsating star,
burning brightly from afar;
you lit the ruins of my soul,
and made the broken pieces whole.
Your light ran deep beneath my skin,
where all my darkness had lived within;
and for a while, my cursed life
forgot the taste of endless strife.
I loved you deeper than words could tell,
deeper than where the shadows dwell;
you became the wish I dared to keep,
the only dream I held asleep.
But stars, too, fade from mortal sight,
and love can vanish beyond the light.
Somewhere between then and now,
we lost the way, I know not how.
Still, I search the endless skies,
for traces of you in the fading light;
I chase your glow through every night,
hoping your star will burn in mine.
Though you are lost, I still believe
that somewhere, you are meant for me;
and if the heavens grant one wish,
I’d ask for nothing more than this-
to find you where our paths once crossed,
to hold the love I thought I’d lost,
and keep you beyond time and scars,
forever beneath the same dark stars.
For you were not merely light to me-
you were the life I wished to see.
And though your pulse has slipped from mine,
I still look up, night after night,
searching for that distant glow,
the only star I’ll ever know-
still wishing, despite all I’ve been through,
that somehow, someday,
my pulsating star would be mine forever.
