Life is not a fairytale
Or some wonderful dream come alive.
Life is about choices.
Whether they're wrong or right.

Life is not about our pain
Or the everyday wars that we must fight.
Life is about surviving
And holding our heads up high.

Life isn't about avoiding our fears
Or how far we have to run away.
Life is about being strong
Even when we're most afraid.

Life is not about money
Or all those material things.
Life is about love, trust, and hope.
Everything you can feel but not see.

Life isn't about holding grudges
Or putting on a show.
Life is about moving on
And learning to let go.

Life isn't about our enemies
Or the hurt we have endured.
Life is about the truest friendships
And the lessons we have learned.

Life isn't about fighting
Or wanting to give in.
Life is about trying your hardest
Even if you don't win.

Everyone has struggled
And had their faith put to the test.
But through it all we will survive
And soon our troubles will be laid to rest.
