The Hourglass

by Rona   Aug 6, 2004

Time went on and on,
I believed everything had gone.

I needed a brand new start,
To mend my broken heart.

I needed a selfless meaning,
To show my real being.

The sand in the hourglass kept falling,
Pieces of paper kept flying.

The wind broke free,
It blew open the window and then I see.

Hand in hand you passed me by,
I thought I was gonna die.

How happy you were with her, I did not know.
How you've cheated, oh how you've gone low.

And still the sand in the hourglass kept falling,
And pieces of my heart kept flying.

Left with a mark of hatred and despair,
Left in the dark with life so unfair.

The hourglass is still here,
It told the story of what I fear.

Time went on and on.
It was true, everything had gone.
