Those Precious Straws

by Kevin   Aug 10, 2004

I'd ask for names
and how it felt to
play so freely dipped in numbness
silence and self doubt would answer
your eyes such distant teary wonders

From the calm of muffled outbreaks
I'd explain the dark away
answer for you as you tremble
dull my points in fearful reason
wary of what you might say

To birds and water then you utter
words about my choice of words
shaking heads and lethal frowning
forget the issue just watch the birds

It's left to me to break us free
lest the current sweep us both away
that i so wronged must be this open
apologise for tear filled eyes
and slips of tongue that pain gave birth to

Is just not right despite your cries.

You've hit the nail on the head of subtleties, gray areas, he/she said, and emotions of relationships.

Yo amigos, this here offering is bout getting all full of anger at a partner for something you think is justified...and then backing down somewhat cause they get so upset...and then you doubt everything you've said...

Read and review if you have the time.
