Destiny

I see a vision in lighting
with each thunder clap.
My destiny lies before me
like a well charted map.

This journey should be easy
just simply follow the way.
Yet wrong decisions cloud my vision
and cause me to stray.

Now, I've gotten way off course
and I'm completely lost.
I must find my way back,
no matter what the cost.

How could I have gotten
so far off track?
What shall become of me
if I don't make it back?

Maybe I'm destined to roam
forever with no end.
Should I ask for guidance
from a trust worthy friend?

The map can no longer tell me
which way to go.
What is my destiny?
I may never know.

As I walk down the road
and I stop at the bend.
Fear sweeps over me
as the darkness closes in.

I must collect my strength
and believe in myself.
I can get through this
without any help.

For if someone guides me
to my so called destiny.
I'll never know for sure
that it was destined for me.

This is a journey
I must make all alone.
So when I do find destiny
I can call it my own!
